NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION FOR THE 2018-2019 SCHOOL YEAR
Welcome to Vista Unified School District, please complete the following steps to register your student if they
have not attended a school in Vista Unified.
All TK/Kindergarten students and new students to the Vista Unified School District will need to enroll online.
You can only register your child at their school of residence.
STEP 1: Complete the Aeries AIR- Online Student Registration application at E-Registration Vista USD to
pre-register your student at their school of residence.
- After you finish and submit your application, you will receive an Enrollment Confirmation, Please print this document.
- Access to a computer and printer is also provided in the Monte Vista office, if needed.
STEP 2: Contact the Monte Vista office and confirm your student's pre-registration.
- Bring the signed Enrollment Confirmation document, immunization records, birth verification and proof of residency to the Monte Vista office.
- You will receive your Parent Portal account by email, which will allow you to complete the registration process on-line.
STEP 3: Complete the registration process by logging into the Parent Portal to review and accept the registration documents.
- Please print the data confirmation page upon completion and return this to the school.
Once you have registered your student online, you will need to bring in the necessary paperwork in order to complete enrollment. Bring one signed copy of the enrollment confirmation, Immunization records, birth verification (certificate or passport), and Proof of Address (lease, mortgage, or most recent utility bill) to the school office. Your registration will not be complete until we receive these documents.
Our office will be open and accepting enrollment paperwork from 9:00-11:00 a.m. and 1:00-3:00 p.m. Monday-Friday. You may complete the online enrollment at home, or you may come into our office for assistance during registration hours. If you have any questions, please call our school office at 760-726-0410.

Legal Requirements for Entrance into Kindergarten:
The child must be born on or before September 1, 2013. The parents or guardian of a child must present legal proof of age before the child may be admitted. Such proof of age may be presented in the form of a birth certificate, a baptismal certificate, passport, or an affidavit of the parent or custodian of the minor. (One form of residence verification is also required).
Parents are also required to provide documented evidence that their children have had the following required immunizations:
POLIO (OPV and/or IPV): Four doses at any age; or three doses if the third dose was administered on or after the 4th birthday.
DIPHTHERIA, TETANUS AND PERTUSSIS (DTP, DTAP, OR DT) Five doses at any age; or four doses if the fourth dose was administered on or after the 4th birthday.
MEASLES, MUMPS, RUBELLA (MMR): Two doses of measles-containing vaccine are required. One dose of mumps- and rubella-containing vaccine is required. All vaccines must have been given on or after the first birthday.
HEPATITIS B: Three doses.
VARICELLA: One dose administered on or after the first birthday or history of clinical disease documented by physician.
PHYSICAL EXAM The student must have a physical examination completed within 6 months prior to the start of Kindergarten.
HOME LANGUAGE SURVEY
If question 1, 2, or 3 on the Home Language Survey section of the Registration Form is answered with a language other than English, parents are asked to complete Student Educational History form. Once the Educational History form is completed, the child is given the California English Language Development Test (CELDT) to determine the student's English proficiency. The CELDT will be administered at the school prior to the beginning of the school year.
